The Ziegelgraben Bridge in Stralsund, Germany is a drawbridge and is 133 meters long. It consists of three parts, namely two static bridges spanning 52 meters each and the tilting center bridge section with a span of 29 meters. The steel center bridge section with a mass of 370 tons is closed to road traffic daily at specific times.
The bridge opened using FAG spherical roller bearings from 1937 until modification in 1990.
Due to higher loads and requirements for freedom from maintenance, spherical plain bearings with ELGOGLIDE® coating were fitted in all points of rotation (bridge leaf, beam, tie rods) during the modification work in the 1990s.
