Bearing Rigidity - A Precondition for Straightening of Section Material

Rails for railway track systems and craneways are hot-rolled in rolling mills. After rolling, the rails cool down, but not uniformly, resulting in warping. Afterwards they have to be straightened in rail straighteners.

Rails up to 120 meters long and with a weight of more than 8 tonnes can be straightened in these machines.

A straightener consists of two stands, one installed behind the other, with horizontal and vertical rolls.
