Slabs are rolled into strip or sheet in hot rolling trains for flat products. In the case of hot strip mills for flat products, a distinction is made between plate rolling trains and hot strip trains.
Four-row tapered roller bearings are used mainly in the work rolls. Double row axial tapered roller bearings are also fitted in modern CVC plants (Continuously Variable Crown).
The work roll bearing supports are equipped with tapered roller bearings of both open and sealed design.
